MCCAIN TO KEYNOTE JUNE IMA CONFERENCE, U.S. TREASURER TO SPEAK

A keynote address by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a speech by the treasurer of the United States, and career guidance from corporate chieftains are among the highlights of the 81st annual Conference and Exposition of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), to be held June 25­28 in Philadelphia.

The conference is expected to be the largest such gathering in the country, with more than 2,000 professionals and their families anticipated.

Featuring the theme "Strategic Finance: Innovation Through Technology," the conference will include professional development seminars aimed at helping accounting and finance professionals build their careers by adapting to rapidly changing technology.

Sen. McCain's keynote address is scheduled for Wednesday, June 28, and U.S. Treasurer Mary Ellen Withrow will address the conference on Tuesday, June 27. Other major speakers include:

* Regina M. Paolillo, chief financial officer of GartnerGroup, a business information technology research and consulting firm;
* Robert F. Young, chair and CEO of Red Hat, a distributor of the open source Red Hat Linux operating system; and
* Dr. James Brackner, IMA's professor in residence, who will lead a panel on developing an accounting curriculum to begin the 21st century.
